How to work as a narrator in ACX
Step 1-Create a Profile in ACX
Sign up and create a Profile in ACX by mentioning your audio book experiences
Step 2. Upload your Sample audio
Upload some of your best audio sample in your Profile, based on accents, genre, and style. Author of the book find and select you based on quality of your Audio samples .
Step 3. How do you want to get paid?
There are two way you can get paid in ACX .Hourly rates or you can choose to share 50% of royalties. Even you can choose both if you are not pretty sure about this .
Step 4. Audition
Once you are logged to ACX Platform you can see books from different genre .You can select the book you’re interested in narrating and producing. Then you can record a few minutes of the manuscript and save this audio sample .If your audio sample is loved by Rights Holder and happens to be top choice, you’ll receive an Offer.
Step 5. Accept the Offer
Its time to discuss the delivery term and payment term and accept the offer. You can agree upon with Rights Holder on delivery dates for the first 15 minutes of audio and final audiobook.
Step 6. Start Recording
Here you can start recording the fisrt 15 min of the audio book. You can also make some edit if required and upload the 15 minute checkpoint of the audiobook. Rights Holder will check this recording and provide feedback. If the quality of the audio is meets the expectation he approves the sample. Once sample is approved you can record the remainder of the project.
Step 7. Work with Other Studio Professionals
To create a professional audiobook, you may want the guidance of other audiobook experts. If you need to hire one, or more, we have Independent Contractor Agreements you may use
Step 8. Finish the Recording
Upload each completed chapter of the audiobook to meet our Audio Submission Requirements and Production Standard Terms. Before payment, the Rights Holder must approve the full audiobook, and has the right to request changes.
Step 9. Get Paid
If you and the Rights Holder agreed on a Pay for Production fee, you will be paid directly by the Rights Holder. If you produced the audiobook as a Royalty Share deal, then you’ll be paid based on 50% of the royalties on sales.
How much do ACX narrators make
